Collection of Personal Information

We only collect personal information to register individuals for our events and to handle your financial contributions.   You may choose to give only your first name for registered events. You may also choose to submit personally identifiable information in certain circumstances, such as when you join any direct mailing lists for Ripple newsletters or make an online contribution to PRC.  In these instances, we may collect information, including your name, address, and other similar contact information as well as any other personal information that you provide to us.  

 

Personal Information from Children

We do not knowingly collect, disclose, or use personally identifiable information provided by a minor under the age of 18.  In certain circumstances, we may accept information provided by a child who is between 13-18 years of age solely in order to assist that child or their family, but we will not include that information on our fundraising lists.  If you learn that your child has provided personally identifiable information to Ripple, please contact us and we shall remove that information from our lists.  

 

Use of Personal Information

RIPPLE does not sell or otherwise share with organizations who are not our partners any of the personally identifiable information received on this site.  

 

 Social Security Numbers

​

RIPPLE does not collect social security numbers, although individuals may at times provide them to us for specific purposes.  In particular, some of our partners may require social security numbers if they need to run independent background checks on individual volunteers.

 

If RIPPLE does receive a social security number, it will use it for only the purposes for which it was submitted, and it will promptly and securely destroy its record of number when the need for it has ended. 

 

Internet Information Security

We take some precaution to ensure that any personally identifiable information you provide on this site is kept confidential through a secure sign up link. Even so, we cannot guarantee that any data provided won’t be subject to loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.  You should be aware that all internet transmissions are subject to security breaches and errors.  

 

You should take precautions in choosing the information you send to RIPPLE via email and safeguard any passwords or special types of identification you use to access this site.
